Does anyone know if Unawatuna has any good dive spots? I know Hikkadua is more famous for it, but I'm traveling with a non-diver who wants to soak up the sun down Una way.

yeah you can go from the beach in unawatuna and swim onto the headland to the north end of the beach and it goes all the way round to 'jungle beach' which is a beach sided by forest on the south side of galle bay. there is a pagoda there. near jungle beach there is a reef but the vis is maybe 3m, i think further out on the headland the vis will be better. the weather will start to break in easter though until dec, and the seas will be rougher, less large fish etc.

you can also hire a boat or dive boat to take you out to a reef like the basses lighthouse.
