Underwater fishing rod!!! The SCUBA Stik

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
There's a dive shop up by Lake Wazee (Wisconsin) that sells them. They retail for over $200! It's much cheaper to just get an ice fishing pole and make one yourself.

i see what u mean but i think a fishing rod is manley made to cast your line from the shore. in the water the rod serves no purpose, just use a hand line
it works fine and what happens if the fish is a bit bigger then the rod will slip from your hand :naughty its a great idee if there where no hand lines and it would then probably evolve in to a hand line because it is more practical. you can tug it around your arm u can let the fish pull u so it gets tired. so underwater fishing rod is in my eyes completely pointless.

sight note i met a nice guy a few months ago the father of a friend of my girlfriend i took em handline fishing and lobster hunting he really enjoyed it and we became good friends. i asked if maybe he could get me some good elastics to make a pole spear well his daughter is here now and somehow she managed to bring a harpoon from her father for me. i haven't seen it yet but damn ain"t that a great present.

was that last fish a trout or salmon? i don't know how you would get on here in nz
we have some serious fresh water regulations it might be fun to try out as getting caught up a river with a spear gun is going to cost you your first born but i'd check out the regs first
