Upgrading speargun

Hi!

Bought a Seac Twin Thunder (50 cm) not to long ago and I'm now thinking to add an extra sling or replace it for a thicker one for a little more "bite".

My question is: Would a thicker sling do any negative effects on the gun?
I was thinking it might bend the shaft and loose some accuracy because of the speed increase since it´s only 6,25 mm?

I feel kinda stuck, and therefore I´m turning to the pro's!

Put too much rubber on a gun accuracy deteriorates and power can actually go down. A thin shaft will vibrate when fired, causing it to lose power and go wherever it wants.

You can try it, but treat it as an experiment that may work. If you can hit a fish with it, it will have a much larger hole where it enters, and also on the back side of the fish. The other dead giveaway is the increase sound when fired.

Best to do some test shots at an immovable target underwater, like a thin sheet of plywood or a plastic jug, held so it can't twist or turn.
