I have difficulty equalizing pressure while free diving. I pinch the nose and blow through it but sometimes I can't get that 'pop'. Taking clariton before going in the water sometimes helps, but I hear pros and cons about using it. What do you guys think?

Thanks

i would stay away from taking anything before a dive. your problem might be that have quite thin Eustachian tubes but these can be exercised over time. get to grips with the frenzel technique its harder but way more effective

You should try to constantly equalize anyway as that pop is not something you should strive for, especially if you are doing this for fun. When you do it constantly you don't get that pop but you won't experience any pain or discomfort anyway.
