Venice Fl looking for fellow freedivers

I am a beginner freediver and spero that often shore dives of the beach in Venice. I am looking for others to go out with and learn from. I currently have a pole spear and a 130 cm speargun. Right now the red tide is hampering diving from shore, so I havent been in the water for over a week.

Hi Coolest, Welcome to DB.

A couple of us dive Warm Mineral Springs in NorthPort every so often. Vis stinks most of the time, but its 85 degrees and 200+ ft straight down. Great for training and interesting(as in very wierd) for the first few trips. If you are interested in that, let me know.

I used to freedive but never had anyone to dive with so I was never really able to work on my technique and comfort in deeper water. Recently I got scuba certified and I have been diving every weekend and the occasional Thursday afternoon dive and then we fish the moon. I very much want to freedive deeper. My best right now is about 25-30 ft. Can't stay there too long though. I think its a lack of comfort thing being solo. As for when I have an open cell suit and so our gulf temps rarely get below what I can handle.

I do both. Mainly scuba now. I have 3 friends with 25' boats but no dive buddy. When we go out we fish then I dive or vise versa depending on day and conditions.
