I hope I am posting this in the right section - the beginners freediving bit seemed a little bare! I'm hoping someone can shed some light - my wife and I have not long returned from a fab holiday snorkeling and want to take things to another level which led to me stumbling across this site. There seems a real wealth of information here on freediving but TBH its a bit of an information overload!
I have spent a good while browsing and understand technical terms and abbreviations but cannot find that elusive (and not patronising) complete beginners guide. I suppose what we are after is a learning programme to follow. I know there are apnea tables and drills but it seems a little, well, dry (if youll excuse the pun) and I find it difficult to really get things into context. I have considered also the deeperblue sett course and also the notanx training but in either case we would really like to have a crack at some basic stuff to see if it is for us. We live in a block of flats so have thought apnea walking up and down might be a good training aid - are there any more? Does there exist a kind of online manual for how to improve? Or even a book?
I suppose that because a lot of people take thier freediving very seriously I am finding it a bit daunting trying to find a starting point that doesnt already build on a very good knowledge and practical base.
We would like to have a weekend at the SETT as above but even then I cant help but feel we would get more out of it if we had some knowledge to build on. I have googled and gone through this site but I am struggling. Perhaps its the wealth of information and I cant see the wood for the trees! Is there a must click link or similar I am missing?
Cheers
