Support Elios, vote for its quality!

Hi! There are some people, who are constantly saying to me that Elios tailor made quality is bad :duh The stitches are of poor quality and curved, a lot of glue stains. Tail's fringe is so horrible, that it cuts a hole in the pants in one single season and you have to throw it away! The tailor cut is very poor also, the suit is made from too few parts and fits like a bag :)

Well, as far as me and my friends are concerned, these statements are absolutely wrong! Suits fits perfectly, quality is superb and they serve for years...

I made this tread to try to convince people, that these "poor quality" statements are incorrect. I presume, that those critics do have some commercial interests to write things like these. But the discussion goes on one very large Russian Internet community with more than 10.000 members. Elios is still largely unknown in Russia, so other peoples could think that the company really sucks.

Could you please just support Elios ans post a short comment on the quality and fit of your suit! I also made a poll, please vote there!

After my suit arrived I found in the box a set of high waist bottoms instead of the farmer John bottoms that I’d ordered, just one e-mail and the lot went back to Elios for the replacement bottoms to be sent out.
Perfect customer care and a now perfect suit.
Top Marks to Elios.

I wonder who dares to talk shite about Elios (?).
Their products are simply fantastic. Best materials, outstanding tailoring, dedication to customers worldwide.
I have a pair of Elios trousers that are now 8 years old, used and abused, and still have every single stitch and glue point still in place same as when new 8 years ago. Anymore questions?

It's not my business, you know, that's why I deleted that bit, even if it's true. I didn't want to make it sound like advertisment or stuff like that.

What i really wonder is who the hell might be talking to you about allieged poor quality. There are not many equipment brands with such a high reputation worldwide. And from what I know, it's a well deserved reputation.

I have no idea who and why is doing this... Just some guys seriously trashing the brand. And as I already told it is not well known there yet, so, I believe, that linking to this tread will support the reputation and restore the truth.

Paul what thickness was your black shadow and how flexible was it compared to any previous suits?

I havent voted on the poll as i have mixed opinions; as spearo suits go my first elios suit was fantastic and lasted 3 seasons of frequent use. good fit and flexible enough. So i was very happy to order a new Elios suit...

My new black shadow is, by comparison, PANTS! the material is not very stretchy and the fit (almost identical measurments to the first) is not good, tight throughout -possibly becuase the black shadow material is less significantly less flexible, even though it says 'super-strechy' ?? I do like being able to put on the 'black shadow dry tho - brilliant, especially in the winter, and i often come out dry afterwards!

I have decided that i would probably not get another Elios, but would rather try an off the shelf suit next time, or maybe try Diveskin, who have a good rep too.

Also, a point that isnt made in the original post is that all spearo suits are MILES behind the technology of surf suits; I just bought a 5mm surf suit which is miles more flexible, taped seams, superb fit, etc. If only they did them with a spearo hood built in...

So for me a good & bad review!

Well,

i have ordered 2 suits in the last 12 months, 1 for myslef and another for the better half.

both suits fit beautifully so as far as there cut is concerned its brilliant. material however has left a lot to be desired, although i ordered silver freedown and the suit is very warm and comfortable, after just 2 days diving the silver began to discolour badly and is now more of a burnt gold than silver, and in irregular places this has also occured to the Blue Freedown of my partners suit.

unfortunatly the other issue i have had has been the service, it was very difficult to get straight answers when ordering the suits and the price was not consistant.

yes i believe the suit are very good but i doubt i would purchase from them again as it is quite a bit of money and then to recieve a suit that isnt really up to screatch....

Johnny 250, you'll find that there are a couple of suit manufacturers now that are using the same systsmes and features of surf suits ;) just need to look a bit around, but they exist.

i will add to my previous point that, the stitching is VERY good n o issues from me at all, yes excessive glue on seams was an issue, but i'm now out to win a fashion contest i just want a suit that works so i fine with the glue marks.

i think the 2 biggest areas they could improve are:
- website! its a shockervery hard o navigate to fine the info you are after
- material QC and continuity, i believe that their suits are good imaybe just got 2 dud suits.

As far as communication with client is concerned, they have a lot of space to improve. I think everybody knows that it takes time to get the information you need. They like to answer all other question, but not those you have asked :) But still it is better than Marea, I sent them two emails 3 months ago without any feedback :)

Concerning depigmentation problem, it looks like a problem of neoprene manufacturer (heiwa, yamamoto etc). I am just curious about QC, did this decolorated parts look normal on the brand new suits? If it was possible to predict the problem than this is the fault by Elios. Did you try to go for the warranty service?

Elios is good for the price, but not perfect. The suit quality can vary a bit and I've had one custom suit (based on the same measurements as all my others) that had to get send to a local place to get adjusted so it fitted me properly.

They are however the cheapest decent custom suit manufacturer, so I'm happy enough with them to continue using their suits.

Could you please write which spearfishing suit will you prefer if price does not matter, I might consider trying one :)

No suits arrived looking normal, we contacted them about the problem but nothing ever evenuated.

its easy enough i'll take my bussiness else where this season for a comp suit.

its not a big deal, companies should be on the ball with customer service its what makes or breaks a business. i shouldnt have to work so hard to give somebody else my money, there are quite a few more eager businesses that are willing to the job so no big loss.

I have two and half Elios suits and I think quality is very high. I never heard anyone badmouthing Elios brand, I did however hear people saying that Oceaner is better than Elios (Oceaner users of course)

To me it's like battle between Apple and PC fans - pointless, because EVEN IF one is better than the other - the end result is all that matters. You can create great art piece on either one. Elios and Oceaner alike, very deep dives possible with either one

But Elios is definitely top shelf in the world of wetsuits with just a sh**** website

Perhaps they sell some counterfeit Elios in Russia :D Otherwise I have no explanation for the derogatory comments. Elios is THE reference among freedivers.

I have seen and heard good things from Polosub & Oceaner. I have no personal experience with them because of the higher prices. As I said, Elios are good considering they are much cheaper and I doubt the price difference can be made up with a quality difference. Elios remain the default for me and my default recommendation.

You talking to me?:):trofl
I'm just not sure and confused, author of the post is from Estonia, I am from Poland, nobody said anything about Russia, Alexey Molchanov did not participate in the thread...:)
