Re: Support Elios, vote for its quality!

Elios is still largely unknown in Russia, so other peoples could think that the company really sucks.
![/B]

So what is the #1 wetsuit brand in Russia then?

Paul what thickness was your black shadow and how flexible was it compared to any previous suits?

I havent voted on the poll as i have mixed opinions; as spearo suits go my first elios suit was fantastic and lasted 3 seasons of frequent use. good fit and flexible enough. So i was very happy to order a new Elios suit...

My new black shadow is, by comparison, PANTS! the material is not very stretchy and the fit (almost identical measurments to the first) is not good, tight throughout -possibly becuase the black shadow material is less significantly less flexible, even though it says 'super-strechy' ?? I do like being able to put on the 'black shadow dry tho - brilliant, especially in the winter, and i often come out dry afterwards!

I have decided that i would probably not get another Elios, but would rather try an off the shelf suit next time, or maybe try Diveskin, who have a good rep too.

Also, a point that isnt made in the original post is that all spearo suits are MILES behind the technology of surf suits; I just bought a 5mm surf suit which is miles more flexible, taped seams, superb fit, etc. If only they did them with a spearo hood built in...

So for me a good & bad review!

Jonny it’s the Black Shadow 5mm farmer john bottoms and 5mm top.
If I compare it to the off the peg stuff that I’ve had in the past it’s like a breath of fresh air mate.
You know me Jonny, speak as I find and if I thought they were crap then I’d say so, but I’ve got to say that I’m much more than just pleased with what I’ve got, from the fit of the suit to the freedom of movement and ability to breath up with more comfort, tis spot on mate.:)

Among tailor made suits? I do not know exactly, local and Ukrainian Neopro and Aquadiscovery brands, possibly. ...and the resource I was talking about is for spearfishers, I think freedivers do know Elios well there. The things are different here in Estonia, we do not have wetsuits from ex-soviet countries here.

I got three Elios wetsuits and I would not buy anything else. Two for spearfishing and one high density.

I would split my comments into categories:

-craftsmanship, fit to body measurements, seams - top class

-materials - this is partly down to you - you get what you choose, if you choose wrong material for your activity, you cannot really blame Elios. What I have chosen for myself is superb quality. I think most people are confused with numerous options.

-customer service - as advice, returns, spare materials, glue, packaging, delivery, ease of negotiating some specific stuff - again top marks. Here is only email response speed that is lagging (once a week), but this is pretty much standard in Italy and for me is not a big deal.

I've never read anything but good things about Elios - was this thread just started as a "viral marketing" sales ploy?! :D I have been delighted with my bottom-of-the-range (but excellent) Elios Ecoline spearo wetsuit. Perhaps it is time to renew our love for Elios: :inlove -- feel the love.

The vote options are not well chosen though. I think Elios are very good, they usually offer very good value for money (my suit has been) - especially for a custom fit -and I would definitely recommend them to other spearos. Excellent - yes, but nobody & nothing is perfect, there is always room for improvement. You also have to understand that this is a small company often making bespoke suits, often offering advice & suggestion in another language - so it is not reasonable to expect an instant response in any language, nor that your suit will turn up in the next post.

A harder/thicker loading pad would be my suggestion for an improvement - for loading RA railguns with 20mm rubbers (the old/current? one is fine for Omer XXV with 18mm rubbers). I'm also thinking of ordering a suit with velcro rather than crotch strap next time - but Elios have already confirmed that they can do that for me.

You talking to me?:):trofl
I'm just not sure and confused, author of the post is from Estonia, I am from Poland, nobody said anything about Russia, Alexey Molchanov did not participate in the thread...:)
Russia/Estonia/Poland/Czech Republic/... - it used to be so much easier when there was just the USSR!:D (Communism sucks though).

Sorry, Mr.X, but Poland and Czech Republic (better told Czechoslovakia in that time) were never part of the USSR (althought the USSR stole parts of their lands). :)

i have 7 elios suits and never had any problem with the fit nor any quality issues also the post sale service is outstanding

friends of mine even sent suits for repair from other brands.. ..

but i agree that the website and the english communication has its own style

Cheers Mate,

Hey, even if You skipped few history lessons it's really OK. I understand it because I did it myself since there was so many cooler things to do back then.
Luckily for us internet provides huge amount of info so we can find nearly anything we want, here's the first source Google recommends if You're interested
[ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Europe]Eastern Europe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

Seriously now, I love history today, age of History Channel that makes it attractive, unlike school when You're busy discovering world around You, girls etc. Additionally, things like countries, borders, are abstract to me. World to me is about people, I don't care about borders anymore. I'v seen many countries and few continents and most fascinating to me were people no matter where I went.
This planet is our home, I feel home everywhere, damn this thread is about Elios.

Elios wetsuits, thanks for being so great to us! Please don't be mad if I'll try Oceaner one day to see if there's really such a difference...

I've owned uh.. lets see... uh..Five :) Two are on their second owners.
First was a 5 mil black shadow/superstretch - 5 years old and on it's second owner. Then a 6 mil black-shadow smooth 'pelagos' top - black shadow superstretch bottoms - on it's second owner (too thick for me in my monofinning ways). I now use smooth-out/ black shadow in - I have two of these in blue pelagos camo - one 3 and one 5. They sent me a 3 by mistake - when I mentioned it they said keep it and sent me a five within two weeks!
Then there is my 5 mil yamamoto 45 freedown - oooh. What a warm suit! I use it mainly when the water is below 55f. I think I'll go yamamoto from now on - such a soft suit.

All perfect fit. My daughter's - which she outgrew - is also on it's second owner. One of my dive buddies ordered an elios nylon out, with the silvery lining - also perfect.

I'm part of a fairly large freediving club here in Toronto and Elios suits are the #1 brand being used by members of the club. I would imagine that at least 40 of them have been shipped to Freedive Toronto members and I have yet to hear of someone who didn't like theirs. Mine's fantastic, and without a doubt the best suit I have.

Cheers,
Aaron
