waterway bi fins

hey guys!
i need an opinion about the waterway bi fins. i am into freediving& spearfishing, at about 30-60 feet.
any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hi daur,

Good fins, much better than most plastic, and the price is excellent. Most people seem to like them, I have a set of #2s in spora pockets and have used them a lot. Unless you are very large and strong, stay with a soft blade like the #2, maybe even if you're large. A couple of things to watch out for, if you switch back and forth between fin blades, the rubber rails that fit inside the pockets may start to come apart. Mine did, from the first, and I had absolutely no success getting Waterway Canada to do anything. Also,the blades have fairly big rubber rails along the lower part of the blade, very good for efficiency, but a little fragile if you are beating around on the bottom wrestling with fish. I've chewed up the ends of the rails on mine. So far that doesn't seem to have hurt anything. The rails also make them less manuverable than blades with less rail, like Specialfins, etc. The fiberglass part of the blade seems very tough, almost indestructable.

I use #3 Waterway bi-fins. My weight is 180 lbs. 6'-2" tall. I find #3 a little stiff for doing longer surface swims and #2 would likely be better for the surface. #2s are recommended by a lot of spearos. But for deeper vertical diving the #3 works great for me. Just depends on what you will be doing more of. They are very well made for a great price.

However, a few weeks ago I was looking at their Canadian website for a mono and it shows a "Closing Sale" on all their products. I inquired whether they were going out of business in Canada and didn't get an answer. If all orders have to now ship from Russia the shipping costs are going to hurt.

mostly dive mono for depth though.

regarding me going to s.a. i don't know yet,any way if i do go there, it will be in the summer(winter there..)
but i just saw these in a store, while looking for fins so i wanted to check them out, with the help of the guys here.
its working out great, i hope to buy them, since im going to have nice trips this coming spring.... red sea... indean ocean...

How are the nemo footpockets ?

My shoesize is 44.
I use nemo 46-48 (the biggest).

So I would say they are small.

If you compare the WW Nemo and the gara 3000, wich one is better??

I have Gara 3000s and have also bought two sets of Waterway #2 & #3. For freediving the Waterway a much better and the construction is great as is the cost. Some people need to cut the small tab off the back of the Nemo footpockets but this is a 1minute job and depends on your feet. I would recommend the Waterway bifins without any hesitation to any freediver.

For spearing and general recreational freediving the Gara3000s are probably a better bet as they are more durable and without the side rails you can scull etc a lot more easily.

The #3 are great for freediving, and for spear fishing, I feel the #2 are too soft.

The nemo foot pocket is very similar to good ol' sporasub pockets, with that soft and thick rubber (personally my favorite foot pockets).

Best value for your money.
