Quick question (You may have answered it already) but you say the model is a Hyperfin which i understand but who is the manufacturer? do you have any contact details for them? the fin looks brilliant.
How is the footpocket angle? similar sort of angle to the Leaderfins hyper or more like the glide? (More angle vs less angle)

Maksym Moroz is the maker. The footpocket according to him is around 30, same as Kershkov or Andronov, nothing like Leaderfins or Waterway.

Andy, I told Max I wanted a soft. He gave me the same fin he made for 'our sportsman, girl, world champion tested it and liked very much. And order the same .... Polozhentseva Irina. She swims long distances, so she uses soft fins.' This are his words.
Ben has the same fin? I know he has a Hyperfin (brandname), I didn't know he has this fin.
For all the new/inexperienced monofin users wanting to order this fin, I want to say something. This is by no means a recreational fin. You will not be able to wear it for extended periods of time. Max makes this fins for national teams, so these are professional fins.

i have jut finished writing with MAX regarding his fins and he is brillient to deal with he has returned all my emails within half on hour un heard for me with other manufacturers, anyway.
BennyB's fin is a Hyperfin By Hyperfins where as mark's fin is a hyperfin style blade but not made by the company hyperfins they are custom made by Max. (from what i understand)
just for future reference for anybody that is interested i have placed an order for a "soft fin" with incompressible wings (ended up asking for a neutral bouyancy wing so i can use it for both dynamic and constant weight) and Max said it is no problem so it is possible to get a fin made that will be good for depth aswell.
now just have to wait till it gets here.

Next time i'm down in Sydney i should have my fin, i'll come by one of the training sessions and you can have a play with mine and see what you think. Andy do you train with Nathan at all? because i'll have to hit him up when i'm down there next time. prob some time in July.

Salibandy, as I just wrote in another thread, your fin, although bending at the foot-pockets, seems to bend just right, but looking at your photos, I wonder little bit about the last one:
In the upper phase, your feet seem to be at the angle of practically 90 degrees to the axis of your legs. Most finswimmer try to have the feet rather in the axis of legs for the optimal angle of attack of the blade. Especially in the upper phase of the kick, in contrary in the bottom phase, they may indeed prolong the kick with a small feet bending downward, but seeing this in the upper phase looks surprising to me.
Perhaps the perspecive of the photo is not perfect, but I'd tell that at this point you actually strongly brake with the entire blade, instead of propulsing. Or did you try swimming backwards? Is it intentional, or rather accidental, and the photo just taken in an unlucky moment when you did not really swim normally (for example just changing the direction, or descending)?

I was angling myself to go downwards.
The pool varies in depth, and I like to follow the bottom closely.
Yes I know it is a horrible photo, I asked myself whether I should post it. I did notice my feet were at wrong angles, but it was the only moment in the video where one can see the bending clearly. My sister had forgotten to bring goggles and was filming blindly.

I found this thread since I am about to buy monofins and want to start out good. I hoped to be able to draw a clear conclusion about which fin to choose, but it still feels like a gamble. I was thinking either hyperfin pro (leaderfin) or the glidefin (waterway) or the gripper or the cobra (andronov) (http://www.schwimmen-shop.de/product_info.php?info=p20010415_Monoflosse--Cobra-.html).
I will use the fin for freediving and therefore I think that I would be most pleased with a fin which gives a GLIDE feeling and has good manouverability. I only dive to depths of 4-5 meter max and do some snorkling and like to stay under water as long as possible. I like to make some speeds on surface for distances of 500m as well.
Are there people out there who have used some of the above mentioned monofins and can recommend me one? That would be great!

Vince, have a look at http://forums.deeperblue.net/monofins/79036-hyperfin-triton-equipment-4.html. In this thread you'll see that the owner requested for his footpockets to be made bigger to accomodate neoprene socks. You can go that path too, and still have a hyperfin to glide.
