for classic spear gun design the middle of the gun between band holes and where the wishbone will be pull is the weakest area and it should be strong and suppose no holes for lead be there ,but for Roller speargun where it will be this area ? anyone could explain with simple sketch ?

Hi doyenofcastle
If you drill a wood speargun for the roller axle the weak point is right behind the axle. The pressure on the axle will apply a force which could split the timber I suggest a small stainless bolt with washers perpendicular to and behind the axle to prevent splitting. I personally prefer to weld stub axles either side of a stainless tube slipped over the end of the gun ( like the one in my avatar) good luck with your build.
