Does anyone know of a website where you can find water conditions in Northern California? I went to Carmel this weekend to see if I can practice breatholding only to find rough condition at best around the Carmel River Beach area. :duh I don't want to do that again, so please help:head

We dove Carmel River Beach this Saturday & went down to Pismo for a Sunday dive... must say that Carmel was a lot nicer. Carmel wasn't the greatest, but saw a lot of fish & the vis. wasn't so bad I smacked my head on the bottom like Pismo :(

For the Carmel/Monterey area (& a few others), I use the following site:
http://usafishing.com/weather.html
I look at the "Current Swell" section, as well as the "Customize your own 3 day swell forecasts" section option in the next box. Seems to work pretty well.

Thanks Fuzz,

Went to Carmel and had an S day instead (Sun, Sand, SURF, but no Spearfishing). Kids had fun though. Again Thanks

Calicos & sheepshead - pretty much the only decent things out there legal. (though I'm not even that fond of sheepshead)

Opaleye & perch if you get real desperate :yack

Thanks for that site longfins - I came across it a while back & lost track of it for a while :(

:thankyou Hey thanks all of you who may have saved all my future weekend spearfishing escapades.

Fuzz ,

Was it Sunday or Saturday that you went out at Carmel River? Cause Sunday we were there and not knowing the area, I thought that it would be a waste of time going in that soup. Just not used to this N. California spearfishing stuff yet.

thanks again

We were there on Saturday - conditions weren't great, but Sunday was worse... so it's all relative. :(

Sending you a PM, so check em ;)
