The problem I've run into with wetsuit sizing is that the size charts are way too general. A Cressi small is not the same as an O'neill small, is not the same as a Henderson small, etc... I know that there are plenty of measurement guides for ordering custom suits. Do people think it would be worthwhile to compile a list of body measurements, and what brands suit fit? Does something like this already exist on the interwebs?

There is a good bit of variability in what manufacturer "A" calls a size "large" and what manufacturer "B" calls a large. However, if you examine the size chart for the suit provided by the manufacturer, then it should be accurate and applicable to that particular suit.

MAKO sells direct and on-line only - so we absolutely rely upon our size guidelines to be accurate and applicable to just about everyone. With today's very high quality neoprene (we use Yamamoto) which is soft, flexible and stretchy, you should be able to find a suit that fits you very well IF you fall within the height and weight guidelines. If you are short for your weight, for example...it is generally better to try to match the weight range rather than the height range.. but of course if you are too far off the charts.. you may need a custom suit.

We accept returns for suits that are unused and don't fit to the customer's satisfaction- so we put a lot of reliance on the accuracy of our size charts.
