Anyone has a Suunto D3? is the best choice to practice serious freedive?
Thanks

hi buddha

got me a mosquito for an extra 30 usd. seemed a fair deal since i scuba dive quite a bit as well. and those 30 bucks give you nitrox and full deco calculation.

but the colour of the D3 definitely beats the mosquito.

it was a difficult choice

I was looking those two at the deeperblue store.. and the price difference is really not that much... is there any functions in D3 that are specially made fro freediving that mosquito is lacking??

D3: Nice features

I haven't tried the Mosquito, but here's what made me decide on the D3:

1. One second samping rate (Mosquito has 2 seconds)
2. Stays in freedive mode for longer (doesn't think the diving is over when you're at the surface)
3. Logs surface time (does Moquito do that as well?)
4. Countdown timer with repeat
5. Lovely, orange color.. or blue.

Ok, maybe that wasn't all that much help...?

Suunto has some nice, full screen demos that can be downloaded. The files are big (10MB, I think), but they show the features in use with explanations, and might help you decide. You can also download the manuals in PDF format.

Good luck :)

I've built the circuit on that website and I have not been able to get it to work so far. I've had to change resistor R3 value to get 3v between common and Data I/O, but it's still doesn't work. I guess I'll have to put a scope on it to have a look at the signal.

What I was looking for, is someone who had actually built a circuit and have it work for them.

Sincerely,

Luc
