What and when do you eat before dynamic pool training?

Hi,

what and when do you eat before dynamic pool training?

For pool training (or depth training) I usually don't make any changes to my usual eating.

For sessions where I'm only doing a target dive (+90% of my max/pb) or a competition, i will eat as many carbohydrates as possible the day before, and on the day-of, I'll eat 1/2 sized portions of my 'normal' diet, trying not to eat 2 hrs before the dive.

The days I train in the pool I have my main meal for lunch if possible. For dinner I just have a thick soup and eat at least two hours before.

If I train in the morning in the dive tank for example. I skip breakfast and have brunch or lunch instead.

When I go spearfishing and spend many hours in the water I make sure I have decent meals in advance and don’t skip on breakfast. Usually have a powerbar or two once I get to the car to replenish asap and make sure I keep hydrated all the time.
