What are you doing gear-wise 2014?

It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
BTW I accidentally discovered a cheap but effective way to camo my old wetsuit. On holiday last week, I decided to patch-up & change the colouring of my fins to better suit the environment. Obviously the oil paints didn't have time to dry properly & rubbed again my wetsuit while I was carrying them :( - fortunately the pattern left look pretty good, so I dabbed the fins in a few more places on the my suit and was left with a lightly camo'd suit! :D Actually it looks pretty good. It will likely gradually wash out until it gets time to dry.

Perhaps you got a duff one. My Omer Mini-laser USA was fine: I used and carried it numerous times without any corrosion problems at all (it has a matt black finish blade). Although I always rinse all of my gear off after use & occasionally oil knife blades. Unfortunately I lost mine early this season, the neoprene pocket I'd made to hold it on my thigh tore off during a dive, didn't notice till later :(. Carrying a second knife was unnecessary though, so I do not plan to replace it (loved the knife, the sheath could & should be improved - to be more like the excellent Rob Allen Limpet sheath for flat knives).

I was unlucky with my Omer gear. But I found it strange for the knife to rust after the first dive. I am so sorry you lost your knife on a dive. By the way, totally agree with you on the sheathe as I found that the knife can be a bit loose and nearly lost it once. Those two plastic sides are a bit loose and sometimes can let go on their own if the knife is not placed properly in the sheathe.
