What are you favourite *small* travel fins?

Just curious what people's favourite skin-diving short fins are?

I travel a lot, mostly for work and even though airlines will often let you take your long fins or even monos with you in the cabin. Some time you need just to meet that IATA hand-luggage rule:

Cabin baggage should have maximum length of 22 in (56 cm), width of 18 in (45 cm) and depth of 10 in (25 cm). The sum of these three dimensions should not exceed the 45 in (115 cm). These dimensions include wheels, handles, side pockets, etc.

So for the purposes of this rule only fins that measure under 54cm from heel to tip count, enough room to fit inside that hand bag along with the laptop and a change of cloths, cressi-minima, foldable snorkel, small swimsuit.


Low weight counts as bonus points.

Are there any short fins that people like? Any others who take the quick side-trip underwater when traveling?

I take my carbon fins , in my hands always.
They sure are great conversation starters.

You could go with a frediving fin that can pop apart, by taking the bade out of the footpocket, and that would work for you. There are a number of fins that can do this: Picasso, Omer's, old style Sporasub's, Waterway Nemo's, Specialfins, and old Cressi Sub's. There are also some that can't do this and wouldn't work: Esclapez,newer Cressi Sub's, new Sporasubs, and some carbon fiber fins that are glued into their footpockets.

If that won't work, and you need a shorter fin, I would go with either a Sporasub Cruise or an Aqualung (technisub) Stratos.

If your talking about the three you mentioned I would stay clear of the force fins, for any kind of freediving, and go with one of the other two. I've owned more than my share of force fins and they don't cut it for freediving.
