what do I need to check before going?

Ok, say im just on my way out the door to go fishing....what sea checks would I need to do before going? And what do I need to be looking for during these checks?

Im thinking about taking my suit and camera out for a little test, cant take the gun as my bungee and mono hasnt come yet so its not rigged.

Sounds stupid but I always check weather and tidal info, then ensure you know the direction of tidal flow at your chosen spot...... It can save you an embarrassing call to the coastguard. It is worth getting a watch also to keep an eye on time.

Another good tip is check your spear tip and knife are sharp before a trip out.

Check you have your dive computer and have done up your beaver tail.

I,ve a laminated list get all your gear out write a list as you put it in bag/ box, have spare mask snorkel and belt if you have one .check though ya list EVERY time you go! a two three hour drive can be a real pisser when your kittin up then find some thing missing!!!!!!!even worse if youve gone for the weekend!Check big bits like wet suite still hanging up drying some where and fins n gun?
