What freediving mask to buy?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I bought, and then sold, my Atomic. I wasn't as impressed with the mask as I thought I would be- VERY over priced for what you get.

Micromask is still my favorite. :inlove

Hey Jon, Got your old masks that Peter sent. I like the one with the two-tone frame - very retro! Looks like the standard sand penetration problem. Well - worth my time to fix on account of the underwater vision correction!

That was a frame I stole off of an old pair of SEAL swimming goggles.

Glad you like them, good luck fixing them up.

Jon

Yep, because they scratch and break! :D

Haha right on Richard! Fortunately for me, there are only 2 scratches even after so long of playing hockey with it. On the other hand, me coach has a Sphera so scratched up, there's a permanent fog coating.rofl

Jon, you mean it's possible to transfer the nose pocket/mask seal over from a Sphera to a Seal?

Looks like it - it does say Seal on the frame - I think I've resurrected that one - at least good enough for pool use, I hope.

There are some very slight differences in the lenses between the Seal and the Sphera, but not enough to make much of a difference. I believe the frames are the same.

If someone tried Omer Alien before can tell about the visibility? My main problem choosing a mask was the visibility of the glass case of omer alien or beauchat mondial the glass was dark and getting fog all the time i came to conclusion that it is becoz of my breath bcoz of that... If some one can help in this i appreciate bcoz i prefer to use a mask with less volume if it will give me great result. In case of micro mask technisub looks great but that front part of the mask will be touching my nose bcoz of my nose bone so when i choose a mask i am looking for ones without that small plastic piece in the nose place...

I have a large nose and the micromask works great for me. Another option is the new Sporasub Mystic.

I love the omer alien and cressi superocchio. They're really reliable and theyve worked for me for decades

Check out this guide for choosing a freediving mask, its really helpful. Kind of like a picking a mask for dummies.
