Hi everybody,
i got some pretty good feedback on my last thread. i thank you all for helping me!! i just have a question. what in the world is a Hawaiian Flopper Tip? i noticed these on the Riffe site and i looked on www.diveus.com and i saw that the Hawaiian flopper tips cost more money. i dont know if this is better ans is worth the extra money or whatever.

Hawaiian flopper falls down below the shaft, a tahitiian flops up.

With the hawaiian and tahitian tips they are integral with the shaft ie not a screw on tip, one of the advantages it that they have less resistance through the water than a screw on tip because it has a smaller end on footprint and is generally more aquadynamic, a disadvantage is that they can cost more than a screw on shaft. The flopper by the way is the articulated barb that stops (hopefully) the fish coming off the shaft

Also for quick and easy removal of fish. I'm changing from a 5/16" screw on to a 9/32" hawaian flopper soon on my riffe 3xs! Also the smaller 9/32 spear is much quicker and faster in the water.
