Depends on the flexibility of your ankle.

The blade should line up with your shins with your toes pointed.

Poor flexibility requires a bigger angle.

I saw an add for carbon fons (leader?) and they had so many options, which might be great if you know exactly what you want but daunting otherwise.

I recall reading somewhere that serious runners tend to have poor ankle flexibility. Sounds like the higher angle fins are intended for them.

It's hard for people to give meaningful opinions on fins because how many different fins does a person ever use? For me only 3 pairs and only one pair of spearo fins, which have worked well for me but there may well be better /lighter/more ergonomic options out there.

A lot of world records in the old days were set in the fiberglass fins with no angle at all. I mean speed records in horizontal diving (dominated by swimming rejects from the USSR). So it is personal, depends on flexibility as mentioned above and other factors. For example if you swim on the surface a lot and want to make as little splashing as possible, use no angle at all. Actually a reverse angle would be helpful for that purpose! A standard 22 degrees angle is OK. Some companies push something like 30 degrees which I find ridiculous. No angle also less likely to break if you have to walk in your fins - highly undesirable but sometimes it happens
