I was in Hawaii a few months ago and got to meet Kurt Taguma one of the shooters in hawaiin skin diver mag. He was wanting to sell me the beuchat marlin but I reluctant as it appeared kinda flimsy..

i believe Kurt uses it with a different setup, modified with 2 14mm bands and i believe a modified muzzle (at least thats what it said in the magazone)..i think all the testers saw some room to improve on the metal shaft keepers in the muzzle, although they made reloading quicker, they were causing friction making the spear slower and shooting low..

I use a rabi 110cm cf apex 1x20mmband 7mm spear as my gun of choice here in the keys.I love the gun and it helps me to get some ridiculously sweet fish that normally would be too fast.I say you get the rabitech!

I have yet to test my Rab Allen Caranx with the new open muzzle and the 16mm bands. I was going to go out today and tested with the wife for her b-day but the plans failed and I wait here with new gear that needs to be tested as soon as possible! Frustration sets in!

Yep the muzzle was one thing that I did not like the look of...It seemed like it was a little tight on the spear,Like the others had said. Just my assumption

I don't know what you mean by tight on the shaft but are you referring to the RA MUZZLE ? Because if you are I can tell you that it's not tight at all and everything seems to sit in perfectly.

oh a dont be afraid that you will bangup a carbon fiber gun I beat everloving shit out of my apex on a daily basis:inlove. The scratches add character but dont compromise the strength of the gun.

armandozx, I was talking about the beuchat marlin, from what I saw it looked like the muzzle constricted the spear a bit,

Tuffstuff dont let your scratches go too deep:crutch

Which module are you talking about since there are 2 open module's for that gun?

BTW it's a module because the muzzle it self does not need to be changed.

Quick Reload Module with adjustable jaws <--- you prob mean this, after all it says it's adjustable so with that in mind there is a possibility that the user might set the jaws to tight on the shaft.

I think they're talking about the Beuchat muzzle being tight ...or was it the Rob Allen?

Lol scratches on the gun not me...even tho the band that came with the gun from sumora.com is a wee bit stiffer then the bands theyre supposed to come with...I think im used to the consistent blood & bruising by now lol.

Ha ha roflrofl thats funny I was talking about the gun not yourselfrofl, though those guns can mess the chest up :head

armandozx its that gun with the spring loaded muzzle( the beuchat gun) that I was talking about,...

To be honest I don't know anything about the beuchat muzzle being spring loaded as far as I know I thought the muzzle was fixed but with options to mount modules or options to the muzzle it self.

Like the Omer XXV GOLD or the HF2 where you go from open to close muzzle with out taking out or switching the muzzle it self.

However there is an adjustable jaws on 1 of the modules. That can increase and decrease tightness on the shaft.

Is this making sense now?

I know loading these band guns on your chest can be quite frustrating some times just my opinion on this. Specially the RA guns that don't have a loading pad on the back compared to the omers, picassos, rabitechs and many more...

the rabitech apex butt is sharp on the edges so you have to be careful to not slice a nipple off if you slip with it on your chest.

I rather have a sliced nipple than a HOLE In my chest then how would I load the gun ? LOL!

I had pictures where it cut through the center on my wetsuit and left bloody bruises on my chest.Seriously the gun is a dream to shoot and WAS a nightmare to load, but now its part of my routine and it doesnt bother me anymore or hurt lol.

I ended up looking like somebody was playing naughts and crosses on my chest with a knife when I went to the islands and had to load a 130 with a 21mm band, with only a rash vest to protect my dignity. Next time I'll rig with a pair of 16s...

For the most part, I prefer guns without loading pads, though I like the one on my rabi stealth. I think they're just personal preference.

Chrismar..you could have the best loading pad in the world, but you will get bruised if theres no chest pad on the wetsuit, especially a rash guard..thats nothing..

Armando, they are talking about the bechat with quick reloading module, being tight on the spear, but i guess that you could remove these jaws alltogether and habe an open muzzle, with no squeeze on the spear at all

Hello Sundown:

RA is very balanced gun with plenty of power and accuracy. If you can’t find it in your area, Rob Allen himself can arrange to deliver your gun…these people have excellent service.

The 20mm band is somewhat difficult to handle with some people, it’s actually a matter of technique but you can always go with 2 x 16mm, a bit longer to load but easier on your muscles….and will give you more power/range than a single 20 mm.

One thing for sure, the Accuracy of this gun is unsurpassed…Good Luck
Ihab

You should have seen this divebuddy of mine:hungover, He had rashguard with a mousepad on it(that he made) and he put the wetsuit on over his rashguard and when he loaded it the wetsuit would slide on the rashguard and the but of the gun(rob allen110)would shoot out his side and rip the suitroflrofl he was all messed uprofl
