get a pair of gara 2000 (very cheap very accurate)... and keep your legs straight when finning

I would back the vote for Imersion (Esclapez) greens. Don't go with the blacks. They're too stiff.
other alternatives are Cressi 3000 LD or Beauchat sports.
The Imersion are best for wide feet of divers wearing thick booties (I wear 5 mm booties in mine).
Beauchat and Cressi are for divers with narrower feet or those diving in bare feet.
2 more I know nothing about, but mauy be good fins are Mares Razor (not the Razor Pro), and the Dessault Performance.
The Dessault footpockets are quite old, and I have 2 pairs, but haven't seen them since they came back onto the market recently. The Dessaults are the only ones of these that have removeable blades (useful if you later want fiberglass or carbon blades, or just want stiffer plastic blades)
Personally I believe most divers are sold fins that are too stiff, and suffer with poor performance, while tellign themselves that stiffer must be better. A medium stiffness blades will easily get me past 30 m (and back) without any problem. Dave Mullins, one of the best, uses Cressi 3000 LDs over his much more expensive fins, because they work fine for him.

I completely agree... "stiff" does not mean "better" or "deeper". Not for fins anyway rofl
Every time I buy new fins they're looser than the last, and I am not limited in depths at all by them.

X2...great beginner fins and you can always use them as back-ups if you upgrade to higher performance fins
