What yoga (or stretching) works best?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.

I've searched the archives and while there's a lot of talk about the beneifits of yoga, I can't find specific asanas recommended.

So, one and all, what do you do to work on lung capacity/flexibility and on thoracic flexibility (or other areas of flexibility for that matter). I'm talking asanas (poses) not pranayama (breathing).

Hi Siku,

Vertical blue suggests matsayana, link is here. Let me know if it doesn't work. Maha bandha (and assoc.) is another. There are a few stretches in manual of freediving.

Breathing properly, any of the poses that contract or stretch your torso will be of help - they will all improve flexibility and elasticity around the chest area, even suryanamaskara B. It's better to do a whole series before including the more advanced poses - not only will there be more benefit, but less risk of injury.
