Where have the Bass gone ???

A couple of my reliable marks are all of a sudden empty:duh,they havn't been overfished ,i'm pretty sure.
Places that had 100s of Bass a month ago are all of a sudden empty,i'm just wondering if they've headed off shore to hunt the incoming shoals of mackerel.
This used to happen me every year when I was a fanatical Bass plugger,and they'd arrive back bigger and better in September,unfortunately as i'm now I Spearo,the swell/wind always seems to pick up in September,which didn't matter much for spinning/ground baiting,but its not great for Spearing.

Any thoughts ???

Very difficult question, there is very little factual evidence as to what bass get up too....most information is just speculation or hearsay!
One fact is the bass is being havested like never before & will steadily decline unless commercial fishing is stopped or at least controlled in a more sustainable way.
The basic facts are the more people we have on our planet the more fish will be required to feed them. (full stop)
