I am at the moment going through a transformation of generally getting fit and losing fat etc.........

Ive booked a course for July 2007...but am so bitten by this bug and interested i want to start now!!!!! (very impatient)!!!

and what can i do to start learning and holding my breath and what if anything can i do at the swimmimg pool (safely ) that will stand me in good stead??

Hi Thanks for that,

I live in rugby Warwickshire, but do work in london at the moment.......

Not too sure about just turning up withou knowing a thing tho!!! ;-)

They are a good place to get started - I turned up without knowing a thing!

You do have to tell them in advance that you want to go, as there are special days for beginners and these are sometimes booked out.

Hey sazza,

read the 'how to start freediving' thread and investigate into everything there that You don't fully understand and/or haven't done yet. - That should keep You busy for a while ;)

Hey Sazza......
Im new freediving too. But ive ordered a book called "Manual of Freediving: Underwater on a Single Breath". No idea what its like, but its a start.

I would also like any other recommendations, if there are any.

"Manual of Freediving: Underwater on a Single Breath" is a very good book, maybe a bit too detailed in some areas, but a good start :)
