since we constantly fill those cavity on the way down, on the way up the air expand, do they go back to the lung themselves ? because our head is above the lung it should not be possible.
I'm asking because I spent the whole month doing depth. I had no problem equalizing all the way down, but on some rare occasions, when I came up about 3-4 meter to the surface, my right ear hurt. It did not feel like ear drum but something else. I guess, when my ear was less than perfect, some air was trapped in a small cavity and it expanded too quick to escape causing a little pain.
So what's your advice on ascend ? I dive with noseclip from times to times. I made sure the soft palate is in neutral, so the air shall expand back to my mouth. What else should I know of ? maybe coming up slower on the last 10m ?
