Hi People,

I thought it would be interesting to read what fins everybody is using to gather filets and what they think of them? (the fins:D )

Has anyone gotten their feet into a new pair of OMER Millenium Ice fins?

Cheers, Guy

Tigullio Grinta

Ever heard of 'em? I know some guys in Italy have - they're from there. Also one or two guys from Hawaii - although they're known to disfugure them :D

They whup some serious butt. I love 'em. They're cheap (compared to any other longblade fin on the market), they perform well - I've taken them in big surf, strong current, cross current and slightly deeper than average spearo (64m) and they've never backchatted me. Not once did they complain and ask "Where were you last night?" They just keep on performing.

:D

Would LOVE to have a pair of Ice's though .... sigh.

tigullio grinta

got a pair of grintas to use while my jbe. violettes are in repair mode. (perfect , but fragile and oh so easy to overkick. )
rating them pretty high on a cost effectiveness scale....damn cheap, damn good.
a top allaround fin.
I use em all the time when spearing, am trying to find a fault (due to the very cheapness of em)
but can't seem to, only that they're not as good at any one thing as the other brands which each seem to be a bit more specialised in what they each do.
I know why you like yours....
you may be disapointed with the ice when you finally get them..
they will feel more like a cressi hd on the stroke and less like jbe.(any colour)...but that was the old series ice.......haven't gotten a chance to try the millenium series version yet (supposedly fixed all the brittleness/material problems and a more comfy pocket to boot.)

The ultimate fin = custom moulded foot pocket (for those that unfortunately are blessed with 19 toes on each foot) + variable blade stiffness (tapering)(what the hell, may as well let the blade do the work hey what?). with the overall blade response controlled by clip on blade edge protectors.
stiff high response blades.. just clip on firm edges......soft low response blades...(you get the idea by now) I snorkel as well, so what.........
I will call it the SWISS ARMY FIN......just for fun.

been through the lot and am back in my gara HF's. have even been through the carbons, too. i think, for warm water, the garas are hard to beat. great response for all types of kicking, too.

i don't think i'll go back to anything else.

new fins

Just bought Omer Millenium. Have not gotten the change to use them yet. I had the chance to test drive a pair and they rock! My old fins were JB Esclapez. The foot pocked was too soft for my taste. I find them to be quite popular here in Hawaii.

I go with the Cressis. I have the LD and the HF. I also had the Gara2000 for several times in the pool training.
I love'em all, but the HF is exactly what I needed after two years with the LD.
Stiffness, good response, good style , top quality, and those really comfortable footpockets :D
Yep, and they are goodlooking too!:inlove

o me, o my, omer

Go for the OMER Ice's if you can fit in them, they're as close to a carbon fin's performance as you'll find without all the limitations and drawbacks and expense of a real carbon. That said, when I'm in free mode, it's with Esclapez open heels.

Hopefully I'll get to try a pair of Ice's this summer. But for now and the last 10 yrs or so it's been me and JB Esclapez, started out w/ green but have been w/ the black's for quite awhile now. I use them for everything from tech diving to lollygagging on the surface impressing the chicks(they work alot better for tech divingrofl ) Just MHO.

Omer milleniums!

I have pair of omer milleniums...I have also tried cressi hf, -ld, sporasub..
I like my omers they are not as stiff as HF's but for me they work well.. but to say if I would go deep I would like to have bit more stiffness to get me back up again....:|
Well that's my 2c
