Hi every body. First of all i dont want to creat any problems to any of the freediving/apnea schools with my question. Thanks

I am 30 years old and freedive for the last 15 years with just a begginer course ,reading alott from internet and forums and alott of hours in the water learning from my mistakes. My statics vary from 2'50 and 3'10 and diving around the -22M and -25M and 60M dynamic in pool.I am not improving for these last 2 years now and better late than never i am thinking of a good course.Un fortunately in my country we dont have any schools so I have to fly away from this mosquito island :t
I like to travel alott to Thailand and there is Apnea Total School . Once a year also comes the AIDA school in my country but its hmmmmmmm very expensive for me compared to Apnea Total.
Can any one of you give me suggestions about which is the best school and courses.Other schools apart from these are also considerable.
Thanks and best regards
Albert

Sorry if this is a bit late as I see it was posted some time ago. What I can tell you is that there are a lot of people out there teaching. If you end up going to APNEA total in Thailand you will surely get some good training as these guys have been doing this for a long time. If you are looking for some more formalized training with one of the more recognized organizations then I would have to say AIDA would be one of the top on the list. You can find AIDA course in Thailand from we freedive (www.wefreedive.org). There are other centers around the world including Greece, France, Uk, and us here in Egypt. AIDA put together the first real solid training program and the courses are sure to be of benefit.
Apnea Academy also offer some really good programs. They are mainly centered in Italy, but there are also instructors around the world. We freedive also run AA courses. There is also a really good center here in Egypt running these course. It is based in Sharm and is called the Only One apnea center.

Hope this helps
all the best

There is also another option in Phuket. Check out wefreedive. Great instructors, I know both personally, and you are sure to get some great training. If you are going to Koa Tao, then Akim at blue immersion is a good option. I know him as well and he is a solid instructor. I would consider the AIDA approach though as I believe the programs, particularly the beginner programs, are superior in training quality. Either way with Akim you will also get some great training good luck.

I have taken all AIDA courses with Akim at Blue Immersion, the 2 star, 3 star, 4 star and the master course.

Akim is a world class freediver, and also a very good instructor in my opinion. The courses are small, and personal. It is a nice team.
On the 14th Blue Immersion will go to Dahab and returns to Koh Tao on the 20th of June. It is possible to book a course in Dahab if you have that option.

Suki I agree with your description of Akim as an athlete and instructor, but if someone is coming to Dahab they may want to look at one of the established schools here. We have several school here in Dahab and each is made up of world class instructors, masters instructors and/ or athletes. There are a lot of very good instructors based out of Dahab.
