Why is it so hard to find a good fin bag?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I actually use a Cressi Apnea, but have considered this offering from our REI-like Canadian outfit:
http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302699795&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441777421

Solid bottom but full mesh ends, and the XL is 34 and a quarter inches long for those of you working the Imp. system. My Picassos are slightly under 34 so would have been a perfect fit, but a kind relative bought me the Cressi before I pulled the trigger at Mountain Equipment Coop. Best of all; only $51 cdn!

I just bought a Armour #87 speargun bag that should hold EVERYTHING. Has a lifetime warranty too. I bought it from leisurepro for $70 shipped it should be here next week.

MEC.ca has a great mesh duffle bag.

They are super strong and the largest size is massive.

Thanks for the advice Apneaddict. I like the bags but it seems the biggest is 87 cm long and my fins are 91 cm so i'll have to get something else ('cause the main reason why i'm buying a new gear bag is my fins won't fit in my old one)

The ends are soft, so I'm sure they would fit with a bit of bend in the fins or with the ends of the bag bowed out. 4 cm isn't much.

My immersion e:greens fit easily. Did a quick search and they appear to be 90cm.

Warning, stay away from Sporasub dry backpack. I bought this backpack 2 weeks ago, it looked simple and good quality stuff and was exactly what i needed. Now, i used it 4 times to carry the gear to my diving location (around 4km), and there was around 8-10kg in it each time . Today i was putting stuff in my bag and noticed a big tear on the spot where the right shoulder-strap is connected with the bag (probably won't survive the next trip)
Now if 109 long backpack can't take 8-10kg (my weight belt was not in the bag if anyone is wandering) i really don't know what was it made for. Should i be buying a new bag every week, is that the intention ? 80 bucks down the drain, and now i probably won't be able to dive anymore this summer (i need a backpack to get to the diving location and now i'm scared that if i buy another one (picasso was my 2nd choice) the same thing will happen).

What i carry in my bag:
-pair of fins
-mask and snorkel
-5mm wetsuit, socks and gloves
-drybox, knife, inflatable buoy
-1.5l of liquid, banana,apple and a sandwich

Am i asking too much from a diving bag ?

My MEC bag carries about 45-50 lbs and for a hike I put the shoulder strap over my head and on one shoulder and one of the handles on the other shoulder. Not perfectly ergonomic... But damn durable, carries a ton and is cheap.

Ymmv.

If you are looking for a bigger dry bag that can carry everything, I've got the Beauchat Antilles and it's been pretty good so far. Makes sure you get the right size for your fins.

I carry weight belt, fins, wetsuit, masks, towel, clothes etc etc in it and it feels very sturdy. It's a bit pricey though.

I've used those military bags when I was in the army and they are pretty sturdy so I'd recommend one of those too if you can get one near you.
