Once I had several fins during a pool session, when I switch from the omer pocket to cressi, I could feel the fin including the pocket bending in the middle of my foot. The 3000 are really talked up on this forum, I glad to read someone with the same perception about them.

hi strangelove,
my previous fin was the sporasub variant (i love ugly fins...): really nice pocket but no blade under it, so switching to the mustang has been very easy
i think i would get the bending pocket feeling with many other classic fins (i do with the 3000, the 2000, the seac genesis, the c4 falcon, which i tried in the last few years)

Thanks again, even the genesis (they pocket looks a lot like the picasso), that is great information. On the falcon what foot pockets are they with (omer ?).

Have you try any picasso pockets ? They are very firm.

Yes, what I love about the Picasso pockets is that they are soft on the tops and sides but very rigid in the sole.

no, i never tried any picasso pocket, they're not much popular in my clubs

i think the falcon i tried came with an omer pocket, but i sincerely don't remember: since c4 lets you buy blades only, i think many here chose their pockets on their own feeling

my genesis footpocket and my omer footpocket monofin from specialfins are very look-alike
if my footstrenght is good, do I really need carbon blades? [carbon blades are normally stiff?, medium stifness, or soft?]

i think carbon blades give a totally different response, which does not depend exclusively on you strenght
in a few words: when you give the stroke, the blade bends and then comes back in shape
carbon can give an "extra power" due to the fact it can get back to the original shape quicker than plastic, this moving faster the same water
(ok, ok, i kept it simple... maybe too simple... :martial)

I agree, that is reason I like them too, but I don't feel the omer bending on my foot I was wondering if he did.

Bill did you check out the new picasso pockets, I wonder if they lost the stiffness.
