Will this wetsuit suffice?

Im buying a body glove 3/2 full body wetsuit for spearfishing,, i've only been to la jolla,,, but i plan on taking trips elsewhere such as catalina island, and laguna,,, will this wetsuit be good enough for these waters?

I strongly recommend getting a custom two piece freediving suit. From diveskin or elios (I personally like elios a lot)

There's lots of detail posted here already - far more than I can give You right now.
Do look around in the equipment sections and use the search function.
As for breaking the bank - certainly not if You don't want to. Custom suits are far better priced than most people think. In the end it depends on the choices You make.

btw: As for your waters, I can only guess You're talking about the U.S. West coast?
DeeperBlue is very international, You should probably state the country or at least the continent You're writing about.

La Jolla is at San Diego, hence SoCal coast, though still relatively cold waters. 3mm may be OK in warmer months, but you may prefer 5mm. It is quite individual - there are people getting cold with 5mm in warm Hawaii waters and having to use 7mm, and there are divers who use no or just a light wetsuit in Nordic waters.

Unless you're talking about summer only and spear fishing that suit will not be enough. For freediving, you will spend over 75% of your time on the surface and not moving much. Even the surface water will get below 60F(15) in the winter and a good 5mm be will needed. I wore a 6mm medium density in all So Ca conditions and rarely was it too warm. Undoing the beaver tail easily solved that problem.

Concurr with Bill, except if you are skinny, in which case it won't work period. I'm skinny and my 3/2 is worthless in much less than 77F. Return it if you can. If not you might get it to work ok by putting a hooded vest or hooded shorty underneath it. If you are buying good 5 mil non-custom suit, it will set you back a lot more than the body glove. A fabulous custom Elios will not be much more $, will be a lot warmer and require less lead. Mine was about $400 after everything and the exchange rate is worse now. Worth every dime.

Suggestion, if you are stuck with the 3/2, get something under it and go diving. Find out if you really love the sport. If you do, even when you're freezing, all of a sudden that Elios will look cheap cheap cheap.

Those dive skin suits look pretty good,, and arent badly priced,,, i havnt gotten the body glove suit yet,,, but i think i'll get a custom 5mm dive skin suit. cant afford to break my broken bank.

I have used a second hand scuba one piece semi dry for 9 months now as a beginner, it has been a great cheap way to start, i cost me 100 on ebay. I have just bought a Cressi Pesca Team though, and its amazing...supple, light and warm. I endorse the cheap start idea to see if you like the sport..

I already love the sport,,, but i usually go offshore in la jolla with my sling or jbl carbine,,, so i havnt been out too far into the colder waters to get more serious,, and i've yet to get a serious gun to go with the idea. but there are the days when the shore water can get a little too nippy for me after about half an hour....
