Hi merman and mermaid,

I am soon to undergoes extraction of my wisdom tooth. After the surgery will if affect my ability to frenzel equalization? Any advice?

I'm not aware of the wisdom removal affecting Frenzel equalization. All of my wisdoms have been removed and I can still perform Frenzel.

If I recall correctly, there is a good period of time after removal where the pressure from a big sneeze can cause a blow out of the gums/bone under the stich they put in where your tooth was. Leading to ....? sinus communication?? Sneeze 125mmHg vs mouthful 40mmHg. Anyways I would go by the precautionary principle and not put high pressures in your mouth until the soft tissue heals and maybe longer till the jaw bone fills in a bit. 1 accidental valsalva could put way more than 40mmHg. Based on 6-8 weeks for a broken long bone to heal I would guess you would be safe after 6 weeks.
