with or without socks?

I'm about to buy my first pair of long fins
Don't ask me why, but I think it should be CRESSI GARA 3000

Regularly, I wear size 40 shoes
I have a pair of MARES, AVANTI QUATTRO POWER
(fullfoot) size 40-41 which works just great, even if I get blisters on my right foot from time to time

After reading carefully most of your posts, I'm in doubt:

Should I buy same size for GARA?
or should I buy 42-43 with neoprene socks?
(Since 42-43 will be longer, every 2-3cm counts)
If this is ok, what thickness should be these socks?

As no one else answers I gonna try and help you with my limited knowledge
I dont think diving in open water without socks is gonna be very great as you will get cold feet.
So you should consider wearing socks.
Having said this I would give you the advice to try the fins with socks. If they fit without socks, too, fine.
If not, take the size you need with socks.
Making decisisions about sizing just with the information of shoe sizes and such isnt very wise.
Better really find and try the fins somewhere...you can still buy them somewhere else once you know your size
