XTAR Pointer DL1 Test by Michael Thomas, “I’ve had a XTAR DL1 pointer on test. Now initially I was struggling to find a good reason to use one in anger. Apart from the childish delight in seeing how far a laser pointer beam will go at night ( very far ) or getting the rabbit to follow it around the garden! But under water it’s remarkably good at pointing out good belays to students to use for line laying and will also be good for pointing out marine life on the reef. It cuts through normal dive lights … well like a laser. I suppose I should add dont go shining it in creatures eyes or at flying machines.”
