aloha the first and the biggest hawaiian open spearfishing

aloha ,
lots of prices are in line, join the first and the biggest hawaiian open spearfishing tournament . lots of prices at stake . register or be a sponsor Even a small donation will have exponential returns on our tournament participants, food recipients, and your company. Because of the “feel-good” altruism of eliminating invasive species and helping to feed the needy, two different local TV shows (Hawaii Skin Diver and Hawaii Goes Fishing) have agreed to cover our event and the cooking at River of Life Shelter. In addition we will be receiving coverage in several publications including Hawaii Fishing News, Lawaia Magazine, Hawaii Skin Diver Magazine, and the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. As a sponsor and supporter of our event, you can bet your company will get coverage!!!

To ensure you get seen, we have several different advertising packages to help promote your company and its products to our participants and the various media outlets we will be sharing our positive story with. But hurry as some promotions like your company’s name on the Tournament T-shirt (which will be worn during cooking and seen on TV) need to be printed soon.

Thank you for listening and I look forward to promoting you and your company at our event!!!

Announcing the inaugural Hawaiian Open of Spearfishing with a unique OPEN tournament format where everyone is a winner. The Hawaiian Open of Spearfishing hopes to attract the world’s top competitive divers to the newest roi shooter on the island with a fun yet serious tournament format and the BIGGEST spearfishing prize table in the Pacific.

The tournament format is simplified with one word "OPEN" all waters surrounding the island of Oahu are "OPEN", and all forms of muscle powered watercraft are "OPEN". The species list, that's "OPEN" too with each diver being able to weigh-in one gamefish and an "OPEN" number of invasives, which means unlimited roi, taape, or toau.

Each diver's score is calculated individually with the following formula the weight of one gamefish (no sharks, rays, eels, balloon/puffer fish allowed) with a max-scoring limit of 30 pounds combined with the total weight of all speared invasive fish species (roi, taape, toau, paddle-tail snapper).

The diver with the highest combined points of gamefish (max of 30 scoring pounds) and invasive species will be declared the top-scorer and will be allowed FIRST CHOICE from the prize table.

The diver with the 2nd highest combined score will be the second person allowed to choose a prize from the table. Thereafter each tournament participant, according to the tournament director’s discretion, will be allowed to choose their prize from the prize table in the order of their scoring until all tournament participants have been called and everyone has claimed a prize of their choosing.

Clarification on the rules:
- Divers must leave from Oahu's shoreline by swimming or via a muscle powered watercraft.
- Divers must following all current Hawaii State Fishing regulations and laws.
- Divers must use muscle powered slings or pneumatic spearguns in their fishing.
- Divers may not use scuba or other artificial breathing equipment
- Divers must weigh-in or be in line to weigh-in their catch by 4:00 PM or be disqualified.
- If any tie in scoring exists, the diver with the earlier registration for the event will place ahead of the later registering diver.
