AERIS F.10 PC Interface Feedback

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I had some crashing issues with the supplied software. I was given a beta download. It might be nice if in your original post here if you keep an updated link to patch files?

Is the protocol and data format documentation publicily available ? It would be great as it would allow open source hackers to write software for other platforms than windows.
I would do one for linux for instance.

I would also like to see a Mac version but if that is to much work I think helping out the developers of MacDive would also make me happy.

Temp
Rates of descent/ascent
Available in Graph and dive profile screen

Also - time-synched garmen gps dive mapping function.

iphone app :)

Perhaps I can help with an IPhone app. Am still using the program I wrote for static training.

I am using my MAC with Parallels to run the windows interface software.

I noticed some blips on most of my profile graphs. See the image attached.

I am using ver 2.2.3 beta ver 10.06.09

I'd certainly take an interest in Linux & alternative platforms (personally an Android guy, so that would be good). I tried to get Cressi to help out with the EDY spec, but no dice from them :(

All of a sudden the Aeris ACI software freezes when I select the + to add/download new dives. I have rebooted, re installed the software and still no success. Anyone else have this problem?

oops that graph looks like an unattended SWB...

Sure it was not, just pulling your leg. Dive safe.

(i can't comment on the interface yet as I am too tight to pay up for the cable. grrrrrrrrrr. let me see some plans on the web and ill build one... grrr)

Parallels is usually good - but it does introduce a pretty big variable. Thats the version I'm running - no probs so far. (running under 7 beta)

Ya, my SWB alarm went off but I couldn't hear it...:)

Scubatoys.com has the cable for $50.

You fixed it....:) It started working after I fooled around with it some more. This has happened to me with my GEO using the Oceanic software. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but I sure do hope one of the MAC dive log programs supports the F10 soon.

I had been using DiveLog with my D3
but was not aware of MacDive - Download which seems to have a wider range of DC support.

Since they have the drivers, I would think that Macdive only needs the data file to develop the support? I sent Nick an email but it might help if we many of us ask for the support? macdive@thedoorisajar.org

Here is the txt export for the dive show in the graph. Notice Dive Time is 00:00 (it is also 00:00 in all the dives shown in the PC interface software). Also notice Surface interval does not show seconds. It should be 00:07:39. And of course the last 5 seconds of the dive show the max depth which accounts for the blip in the graph.

Native Mac support for F10

I emailed Nick at MacDive - Download and we did some testing. I was able to send him some data from the f10 using a test program of his. The result was:
"they have changed some things in the internal memory structure. I will have to spend some time figuring out what's different. But the serial communication code works, so that's half the battle won."

He has the F10 support on the back burner until he can finish a major overhaul of Macdive that is needed for snow leapord issues.

Doug, Is there anyway Oceanic can work with Nick so there can be native Mac support for the F.10? The benefits to the community and Oceanic/Aeris are obvious.
