2008 Fish Spearing/Garbage removal contest entire year - Wisconsin

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.

Thats where I saw it too... Good idea to keep the sharks & seals away from your catch...AND YOU!...But I think they'd be awesome for carpin'! Panfishing too, just add a small bag of ice maybe...

A small kids raft would be cool too but it might not be all that durable with the spikey dorsal fins sticking outta a bunch of carp!

I once saw a SUPER small little raft...Like so small a two toddlers would barely fit in one...It would be cool to just fiberglass over one of them if I could find one!

tie a tarp over the raft. I wish I could get ahold of a 1 man survival raft from the airforce....they were real strong.
 
Well another fun day at the outlet a total of 30 some fish between the 3 of us i shot 4 of course i didnt have a pic so whopperhead and jon are my witness
 
Got 13 carp today 1 Buffalo 12 Common Carp. At the Outlet today.

My Total for the 2008 season so far is 22 CARP. :martial

I'm not sure what my total for the season is so far, but I shot 14 today. Largest one was 24 pounds and two of them were 33" long. I know I have at least 20, but I think I forgot about last weekends catch- Scott would know for sure. I guess that's what happens when you get old. rofl

JON's 2008 Total so far is 23 Carp :martial

JON also has the LARGEST ROUGHFISH so far with a score of 57 (weight + Length)
 
AWESOME DAY GUYS! WISH I COULDA BEEN THERE! I spent the day "flying solo" with two newborns and a toddler...While my wife painted the kids rooms at our new house. It was fun, but I'm worn out too! :t

I'll probably have NO chance with the contest - NUMBERS wise anyways...I'm sure I won't get out diving as much as I'd like to this year.

You guys never even really took a break...Speared right on through the winter! Thats so cool!

Even if I COULD go...I would'nt easily be able to justify burning up 50 bucks worth of gas every trip. And the stuff isn't getting any cheaper either.

I'll just have to get the BIG MAMA to be able to win something! Good thing I know where to get some 15 inch Crappies....Soon, very soon. :t
 
What about biggest saltwater fish?? But you have to be from the midwest to qualify!

Um...dude...You live in the midwest! :head So if you get to salt water, you would qualify!
 
sorry i didnt know if wisconsin was midwest or if that was just IL and such what about just IL guys can win on that part :friday
 
Im heading out to hawaii on monday, bringing my speargun in tow. If there is a prize for a saltwater fish, I hope to nab it.

yeah, that's cool. Maybe you can have your boss take Scott and I out spearing. Looks like we have one day arranged, need a second Actually have some things in the works. Hope to meet up with SettingSteel and/or Armandozx And Tony.

All those are common carp, fully scaled varieties, do you get mirrors or leathers?
 
The only other Carp we get is Buffalo.
