The publicity (ie. website) has indeed been the best I think we've seen so far. Following the results in almost real time was indeed cool. Great job!
I expected the dynamic level to have gone up, but not really this much! 150 was not enough for A-final in women, in Renens I think only 3 went beyond 150.
Per opened the competition nicely with his "shock and awe" performance. I suspect his performance is in a way the reason for such a high BO count. I wouldn't pe surprsied if that was intentional, ie. scare the s**t out of the competitors
People simply went "oh my god, you need 200m+ to get to the finals" - which in the end was not far from the truth. But what a nice dive, congratulations for Per on joining the 200 club! The nice thing is that the level has gone up so much that there is not really anyone who can "hold back" in the qualifying - which I also thing is partly the reason for the high DQ rate.
I bet a lot of people are a beating them selves up for not announcing a "real" ap - not very pleasant loosing your spot in the finals for that. If you end a dive near a wall, it's just a matter of probablities that alot of competitors will be within a few meters or exactly the same distance. You want to keep your AP close to your RP in that case. Also, if you're competing seriously, never end the performance on the wall. Just one push with your hand will set you apart from dozens of divers.
Not such a good day for Finland. I feel really bad for Lauri, what a nice dive, but rules are rules and that's why training the surfacing is just as important as any other aspect of the dive.
