Attaching Rails to Carbons

As far as getting a Riffe or Aim Rite trigger mech. check out either www.freedivehawaii.com (Hanapaa) or www.bluewaterhunter.com. (Blue Water Hunter). The prices are way cheaper than what you can get in Oz even after doing the monetary conversion. I think it is still $1 US=$1.70 AU but it may have changed because of the war. Anyway, the guys working at these stores are right on.

Concerning wood, have you ever heard of purple heart? A couple friends of mine have reef gun stocks made of purple heart. One of my dive partners is putting the finishing touches on a blue water gun made of the stuff. The wood has a pretty straight grain and once varnished has a deep purple color. Gorgeous and very unique look. It is also a very dense wood and is really cheap compared to teak or koa. I'll try and see if I can post some pics of the purple heart guns.
