BC Spearing Trip: Round 3 (2008)

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
If I recall you guys never made it to God's Pocket last year at TC? What happened?

We didn't have enough guys in the group to justify the transport of the boat and costs for Browning Pass. We were down to 4. Maybe we can re-visit the idea for this year. One concern I have about August is with regard to Lindsey. He is busier with tours that time of year I think.

If someone had the good sense to name a place God's Pocket it surely seems we must find a way to visit it.

Colin it's Aug 9-17.... make it happen brother! Where'd you get hired at? Did you make it back home yet?
God's Pocket is stunning, but we need a larger group to get out there. If we get enough confirmed people and can get deposits, we could maybe book Lindsay again.
Connor you'll need to fly into Vancouver. We could arrange for a pickup there if the timing works out, or you could then fly up to Port Hardy and we could come get you there, or you could rent a vehicle or share with Jim or Chris or....

I need to get in the water soon :(
-46C with windchill today!

Just posting to say I can't make it for those dates. I hope the trip goes well. Say hello if you come through my area.

Will make flight arrangements (prices look great) as soon as I can track down JimDoe.

That sucks, Jimbo Jones....
Where exactly are you stranger? Vic? We'll certainly make an effort to get together. At least you get to hunt whenever you want!

hey bud, got picked up by an outfit out of Red Deer, but will be bush/camp jobs for my on-time. I'll let you know when I'm next in Ed, we'll get some sushi :D

I'll let work know, hopefully i can make it. In a hotel in Hinton right now, crossed the rockies yesterday, 6hrs in 4x4, over a foot of snow on the highway, heavy xwind. low low low ceiling. lovely time of year.....

Will make flight arrangements (prices look great) as soon as I can track down JimDoe.

I'd love a PM when you get a 20 in Jimbo, buddy has been AWOL for some time now....

Roj on the jimbo pm - me too.
Colin - sounds like your intrepidity chops are well under way! Your welcome to come out here and join me for fin sprints under a -41F windchill. Makes for a crunchy exit.

Anyone driving up from Vancouver, and if so, when? It's kind of early to know, but I really want to try and make the trip this year.

I will more than likely be coming through Van, as will Lee and probably Colin too.

I'm assuming my flight will end in Vancouver and would love to drive with some of you. How long does it take to drive from Vancouver to Telegraph Cove?

Connor

It's a 2 hour ferry over to the island then about a 5 hour drive north! Lot's of time to get to know each other :)

Yes it must be during the day... the scenery is spectacular, plus the stops for lunch and coffee are important.

I was thinking more about the vampire-eagles. And the giant slugs.. They also have strange candian forest dogs that weigh about 300lbs and walk slowly across roads.
