BC Spearing Trip: Round Two!

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
How long of a run is it to those sites on the itenerary? Is Telegraph Cove the port where the boat will be docked? Again sorry if this has already been covered.

Signed,

slacker;)

Good point about lunch too. We always have a big camp set-up where we eat ginormous amounts of food when we go to Mendo (n. Cal) for abs. My suggestion is go big on breakfast too so you don't get burnt out.

I'll let Lee (Feign) answer the last question from Fleeder...
Just wanted to chime in.

.oOo.oOo. Superb Work .oOo.oOo.

Agreed. The more the merrier. Bri and I WILL be packing lighter. More room for additional divers. Outstanding. Really, I mean that.

I know others will being doing something similar, but the tune for my edition of TC gathering-2007 is already inspiring a storyboard. I'm so pumped. And we should be... what a great gathering for 2007!

fleedermouse, food is the least of our worries if it;s anything like last trip.

steak and 4 egg omlettes for breakfast again anyone?

Awesome stuff Lee, thanks for taking that on.
We need to meet soon to pick up that gun and I'll also give you extra for the deposit.
Erik

-Deposit has been paid for the boat.

-A friend of mine, Lars, from Vancouver, that got into spearfishing about two years ago, is likely going to join us out there for the trip. He is an awesome guy that I know everyone will enjoy having with us.

-The captain has been talking to other locals and divers to scope out spots for us to dive. I was going to send him some requests for areas to work on for us e.g. halibut fishing areas 30 meters and shallower. Does anyone have any requests that I can pass on?

-Erik, let me know when you want to get together.

-Fleeder, most of the dive sites will likely be within 20-30 minutes from Telegraph cove. We will launch from there or from Beaver cove, that is around the corner from Telegraph.

Thanks Feign,

Hopefully I can pull something together and join you all. I am starting a new job so I have to wait and see on the time off scenario.

Be careful with the halibuts. I was tuna fishing with a guy once who said he shot a halibut and it dragged him from under the bridge in Newport, OR clear to the jaws of Yaquina Bay-a solid mile I bet- before he finally got his wits about him and let go.

Got room for one more Lee? Looks like Jer will be in hawaii but I'll likely be coming out.

We'll swing down through Calgary and pick you up James!

rik

Not sure that will be necessary depending on whether the fam comes out with, will let you know.

Lee ask and see if there are any spots where the codfish come shallow. They are legal for us to spear but they do come shallow sometimes as Amphibious has experienced. You guys should have an amazing trip. AGAIN!

OK we're confirmed, there will be the three of us (me, wife, and son). We could meet somewhere along the way if you want to caravan on the way out...

Lydija would like to try diving out int he ocean but doesn't want to spring for a wetsuit until she's tried it. Does anyone coming along have a really thick warm suit that would fit a woman of about 5'3" and 110lbs that she could borrow for a half hour?

I really really want to go but I highly doubt I can. I do happen to have a 5mm 2 piece high waist open cell with nylon on the outside free diving suit that was my wife's. She used it once and decided she is too claustrophobic for a suit. My wife is 5'6 and 135 so a bit too big for your wife, but it would be more length wise, she has an athletic build.

If you can figure out a way or know someone who is going through Oregon up that way I will let you borrow it and see if your wife likes it, I can even take a trip to Seattle and visit my in-law if you know someone there. Either way you are free to borrow it since my wife is not using it.

James! It will be great to meet you in June :) I'm Brianna's husband. There will be a couple of us forming a definate convoy. You're welcome to join. Brianna and I are at an ideal stop-over location in Kamloops, and anyone is welcome to take advantage of this. The Vancouver ferries are about 4 hr from here, on an easy scenic drive along the coquihalla highway.

We've had new dive computers for a few weeks, if any one is interested in a bit of a review:

...Christ's 40 days in the desert and return to community, Muhammed's times in the cave and return to community, Siddartha's 4 years in the forest and return to community.... and Sven's getting to scope out Sara's backside during her 5 minute static. Erik

Yep, wonders do abound.

Thanks to JPPLAY (Young Jim) for ordering/receiving my new gear: OMER Atoll float, new 100' line to replace the 60', and spare shaft for my T-20. Can't wait to get in the water end of May.
My bro-in-law Paul wants to come but feels he will hold us back which is wrong. He is a champion swimmer, I took him out spearing 1 day last year in a lake and he was just fine. I'm giving him my Picasso suit plus buying him a gun, so hopefully he will join us.

These moderators think they can get away with anything. Calling people by any name they want. Where can I lodge an official protest?
