Bearded Spearos, which mask do you use?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I was thinking of trying mustache wax, it is not greasy like vaseline and probably doesn't wash away as quickly while diving (but I assume it must still be not too hard to get out once at home), has anyone tried this?

Does vaseline react with wetsuit fabric and mask skirt in a detrimental way? I know oil based products will deteriorate rubber, but then, is there any rubber in modern dive equipment?

I think the Vaseline is petroleum based and will react with a rubber mask, but not with a silicone one - although please do your own research on this, as I am wrong about most things.

Old thread but I am still looking for that perfect mask that allows me not to shave. My current low volume mask, an Omer Alien, leaks even with a one day growth! The only mask I have ever owned that allows me to not shave (even for two weeks) is my 15 year old US Divers Manta Ray Mask (high volume snorkeling mask). I am always amazed on how well it manages my facial hair without leaking. I wonder why no low volume masks can do that, I think it is just how the skirt is shaped that does that.

Recently Mares came out with the Viper mask, I have not tried it yet but I heard it may work well with facial hair, anyone tried it yet?

After battling with this problem - I just shave a small bit under my nose - not really noticeable and works pretty well.

Cressi-Sub Superocchio has very minor leakage with my tash, so would imagine this mask with Vaseline would work very well!
