CO2/O2 tables and max times

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I just find that apnea performance gets significanlty better. Both co2 (later contractions) and o2 (later samba)

But I only stop it for the weeks leading to competition and resume it right after (except sometimes, when the break get's the best of me and I wake up 6 months later 10kg heavier :)

3 weeks is a bit long for me to go without my spinning class - I'll have to chuck out my new smaller clothes!! I'll calm it down in the week before. Haven't noticed it being a problem before and my heart calms down very quick after the exercise is over.

anyone else got a view on this? Cardio exercise affecting static? I know its a fairly common belief but I don't really understand fully why.

Sam,

Weight (as I'm sure you are aware) is a relationship between energy in/energy burnt. Stop the spin classes and cut back on food intake and metabolism slows (good for max attempts) As long as you are not exceeding the energy burnt you can keep the smaller clothes :p .

As far as the tables being easier I suggest you need to move them up a few notches. Both the NEW CO2/O2 PFI tables are tougher for me than a max attempt as the time in the struggle phase is longer than a one off max. On the CO2 tables I'm pretty much having contractions from the start of the last hold and in the o2 tables both of the last holds are 80% of my max. Also Erics IHT sessions keep you at a level of horrible discomfort for a lot longer than a max attempt.

For those that are looking for the new PFI tables, they are given to you as part of a PFI course. Contact Martin, Mandy or Kirk for them.

...just some thoughts

Andy

I find that being tired actually increases my static time. Maybe it's easier to almost fall asleep.

Doing tables definitely improves my static and dynamic performance. If I discovered something easier I would do it, but for now, nothing beats sitting around stockpiling CO2 and enduring monumental contractions. :blackeye

Bill
anyway to download the PFI tables from Kirk and Martin site?
i am anxious the table :D

I have decided to try doing mostly tables for my dry training. This is because I feel I can make more progress by doing tables than random bunches of dry statics. I won't do tables in the pool, because:

-My buddy will get very bored and waste his/her training session
-For CO2 tables, I am not brave enough to push myself as hard as I can dry.
-For O2 tables, there is a significant possibility of LMC.

This will also be an incentive to do some proper statics in the pool.

I will post any interesting results.

Lucia
