Tribs i couldn't find anybody to beat the renewal quote that i had from Navigators and General and after a phone call to them i even managed a slight discount from last year, 6 meter rib with a honda 90hp and i paid £164 all in.

We are fitting the two-stroke, 50Hp Mariner off my RIB onto the boat. We'll see how it goes, but it was given a big thumbs up by the manufacturer to be a good fit - hopefully it'll fly along like the RIB used to. It can't get here soon enough now :)

Just dusted off the cobwebs and headed down the Lizard for a dive. Vis was alright, up to 5m and there was a bit of windswell but only slight with a very light onshore breeze. It was quiet at first fish wise with a lone pollock and a couple of wrasse for company but after a bit of a swim to some other terrain i came across a few shoals of mullet running close to shore through the surf on the incoming tide. Managed to take a medium sized fish after a much hesitation. Saw a fair few sand eels and bait fish and all in all it was a bloody pleasurable dive. It was much warmer than i'd been fearing too. 'Ansome.

Hi Guys, I'm still living ;):blackeye
Took a paddle up the Gannel on a longboard yesterday on the crystal clear flood and saw several sea trout and definitely a good few probable mullet but bass cant be out of the question either.
I can sense the smell of soapy musty neoprene is coming at me fast!:)

Having had the kit in the van for a few days I had my first dive of the year this afternoon (North Coast, on the border). Exactly as I would expect! Damn it hurts the face (and the teeth) for the first few dives. Did become more pleasent but viz wasn't great, 2m. Pretty much a ghost town except for some small flaties. Suprised not to see at least some dog fish chilling out.

Still I'm in and ready for things to warm up a bit. Looks like some surf coming in late saturday :)

Been trying to get in for the last couple of days at a spot i know is a good early bet. Today was perfect for it so i gave it a look. It's a funny old spot and you have to fish it really close in and shallow as this is where they like it. It looked like it was clear but it was actually only 1-2m maybe a bit more. Been out about 30 minutes and a very large mullet cruised by then faded into the murk. Behind though were several more mullet and a good few nice sized bass. You had such a short opportunity for a shot though due the vis and the light was fading. Luckily got a shot away and nailed it high up, not the best shot. Quick scrap, on the stringer. Didn't weigh it but it looks around the 4-5lb mark. Saw a few more mullet as i mooched back to the beach but no more bass. Might try and get in there tomorrow morning if the boss allows it. :naughty

Got in today for a long one, took the boat out and managed to get to some of the more remote locations and spent most of the time around the rocks looking for lobsters and its finally paid off :).
I never knew they were that aggressive it went straight for me, but I pinned it to the floor and grabbed its back then it kicked like crazy.
My breath holds are slowly improving, they will need to now as this is going to be addictive.

Hello there, been reading up all your great tips over the winter and trying to put them into practice.......
I have been hoping to introduce my self with a big fat bass but have failed and not seen any yet... got in at the weekend on the south coast and thought I'd have a look for some flatties and there they were! shot two and left feeling pretty pleased with myself.
Trying to get in as often as I can so if anyone lives around the St.Austell area fancies a dive, give me a shout..
Here's the fish if I can work out how to get them on here and thanks again for all your wise words.. cheers Si
