How about we hold it at cornwall best beach, Porthemmet? It will be perfect for our visitors that come down this way from over the Tamar, like Podge and co. I am sure they will be impressed with the quality of spearing there too!

We could have a practice somewhere else first, one of our less impressive beaches, to make sure we get things all set right then hold the main BBQ at Porthemmet. Makes perfect sense to me .

Yep, I'm definatly up for a BBQ. The last Deeperblue meet at Vobster was great fun (esp the orange coloured cider), as was the spearo BBQ at Paignton. :friday

I know there are a least a couple of buddies still hunting in these cold waters! Had planned to go on a road trip to surf this weekend but surf forcast looks poor. Still good conditions for spearing if it was mid August! If I am tempted whats in the kelp, other than Seals (and can I check again when the mating season is?!)

It's just a thought but we're a pretty fragmented bunch of spearo's around Cornwall and i can sometimes go a whole season without bumping into anyone else. I've been on this forum a while now and know a whole buch of good people that i've never actually met.

Would anyone else be up for a Cornwall summer spearo bbq to put a few names to faces and enjoy doing what we all like, namely eating lots of fresh fish, drinking some cold ones and chatting about spearfishing?

Count Me in....The sooner some dates get banded about the better- as the same with Podge- weekends are my busiest times.
If the venue had access for a camper/motorhome that would be smashing as one does not lay up with the riff raff from over the border.

In Bass news a friend of mine was down newlyn market t'other day and a there were a few bass in the boxes taken from SE of the Lizard. Not too long now.
