Hi Robbo.

Alas, no, I dont have an RS. I did have a 996 C4, but that had to go earlier this year unfortunately. Champagne taste, lemonade money. I couldn't keep running two cars. Although the 996 was cheaper to run than the Disco, I needed the practicallity.

Last PM was last September I think. Unfortunately I never got to tour it, but did give it some thorough workouts in Cornwall. It seemed to defy the laws of Physics in my book.

Still I got a new spear gun once the sale briefly bought the bank ballance back into the black.

fun day toaday with kayaks, two ofshore reefs had a good bit of currant runing and not much to see , dived further in wich was more fun bagged 2 nice bass gutshot bagged 3 alot fatter to, bass that is, also 4 macas on a rod, just polished them all on the bbq, kids and wife all happy..

Again a very similar sounding dive to mine. Headed out to an rocky island on the north coast and had numerous drops with the tide and then would leave the current and try again. A lot of bass would surround me but all looked pretty small...massive shoals of Pollock too but again all small. Followed the reef back in looking for flatties with no success and headed to a small bay with two little coves. Again very quiet so i waited for the tide to hit the base of the cliffs and stalked around the boulders and managed to pick up two okay bass which luckily justified what turned into a rather long swim. Vis was lovely but greatly reduced in tight to the cliffs.

hi all, new to the website, also fairly new to spearfishing. I've just moved down to Cornwall and been browsing previous threads for some good marks around the south coast, but haven't had much luck on the places that i have tried already. i don't suppose anyone would be up for sharing some good marks that are easily accessible from the shore with me? also when is the best time for fishing down in Cornwall?

What fins do you all use? I'm thinking of getting some new ones for my trip away but they would predominantly be used here in the UK. I go down to about 20 meters and very rarely do that tbh. But do think I would notice a nice difference upgrading from my normal Bauchat (plastic) competitions up a fibre glass or even carbon set?

I've used these Leader fins stereo blades for about a year now and i've been pretty happy with them. Originally they felt a little soft even though i opted for the medium but time has shown them to be a good all round fin. I use them with Omer millenium foot pockets. Also, for the price, they're a good value for money blade

+1 leader fins are bloody great, i got a chance to feel my friends medium ones but found them to soft so i opted for the hard version, id say they are simular stiffness to my sporasub elite mabe a little less stiff being they are fibre, when these are knackered id buy a new pair....

Is there much noticeable difference moving on from the cheaper plastic ones to the fibre glass or Carbons??

Hey Ton, I used cressi garas (plastic) for years but swapped to seac fiberglass fins because of the wide pockets they use. the blades are softer than the garas and are more responsive they also a lot more forgiving on the legs and very comfortable.

They took a little getting used to but I wouldnt be without them now.

Cheers Scott. Yeah just 3 weeks today - cant wait mate! Got me a 160 Rob Allen coming too lol. Fingers crossed come the end of August I should be up dating all my profile pics with me (all limbs still attached) and a fish that for once I don't need to shove right in the cameras lens to make it look bigger hahaa

Im jealous mate!!!! How many spare shafts are you taking? I hear the GT's and tuna absolutely wreck them. Is Col and them suppling the floats and other big game gear?

Yeah the SIB was a hard sacrifice to come to terms with but I figured this was one of those holidays of a life time Currently I only have one spare spear hmmm maybe I should look into that more? I have seen these things on youtube were the tip of the spear comes off the shaft but is connected by some cat gut. So the shaft is kept out of harms way kinda thing. I wonder if they are any good? At 50 odd quid a shaft it could be an idea..

Gear wise nar we get our own largely. But Titus has sorted me some good prices and a second hand 3mm wetsuit so all in it didn't come to much over £150 for the extras.

I'm just looking at sticking a reel on my UK gun now for when we do some reef fishing for those groupers Hehehee
