Hi folks and happy new year.

Here's hoping for a better run of fish this year, particularly more Bass coming in and a few more Tuna wouldn't go amiss.

I've just been on the scales and seen the impact of the Christmas excess. I think I need to get in the water and burn some fat.

Anyone been in recently and was it any good, is there much around? Some east facing locations look pretty calm right now.

Last year was a bit rubbish for me, going to get back on it this season. Free-diving training and big bass here we come!

You and me both Padaxes! Given up a lot of bad habits and started up a few healthier ones with an eye to doing a LOT more diving this year. Going to sell the rib and focus more on kayak diving as well.

I really ought to get out on the Kayak to dive, would give me more sencible range than just doing the long swims.

Anyone know if it's worth braving the water in a 5mm right now? Is there anything about to catch?

Don't know yet, will need tidying up for sale but somewhere over a couple of grand i'd imagine.

Seems like the Devon boys are getting into a few fish. Certainly enough to cause me to buy new socks and gloves and be watching a few used dive torches on ebay anyway!

Think i'm going to have a few dips soon with or without the gun just to wash off all the rust. Certainly feels mild enough in the sea when i'e been surfing.

Finished my winter project today, a wood and carbon 84cm twin band bass buster. Was going to take a dip sat morning to try it out but low and behold, I've come down with a cold! Bummer.

Christened my new kayak with a quick jolly this morning off Maenporth. Vis looked fishable but the forcast looks like some SE winds coming up so it may not last. Lovely morning for it mind.

Well that's bloody typical....bid on two torches and won both. Why do you never get outbid when you want to?

Anyway, one's a UK D4R Xenon and the other is a UK400.....both rechargable. Anyone have any experience of either of these torches?

Yeah, i used a uk400 for years when blowing bubbles. Still got one too. Slightly bulky and heavy and considering what you can buy today but still does a good job though. I have not used mine for years but always loved it till i got a new brighter, all singing and dancing model.

Cool....as long as it does the job i'll be happy. Guess i'll just try both and sell on the lesser performing. You can tell i was hoping to get in the water on the south coast by the way the wind is going E-SE for the coming week. Still, should be a little wave.
