It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Down Monday for two weeks working staying in Trispen north of Truro hoping to get in some where in the eves .mrhogan/scallywag will you be up for a meet!? may try south side again. Any hints would be great? Thanks.

Vis report, who wants it????

Denian, PM me mate, no dramas. Tuesday afternoon is supposed to be looking good for roseland/Falmouth marks.

Hey guy's new to this.... ( on recommendation of MrHogan).... Seems we all spear similar area... anyone got any particular hot spots? looking to try some new.

Been for a couple of dives just off battery rocks in the last two days and vis is about 4-5 feet, no fun for spearing but i do not spear so i do not mind as much as its fun going through weed and kelp with bad vis.

Im in Penzance and posted last year looking for other people to dive with (Preferably not spearos) but at the time i had no transport, no i have a motorcycle though so looking for other people to dive with!

"Hot spots" tend to be closely guarded secrets gained from years of trial and error or stummbled over by chance. You may find people will point you in a general direction buts its unlikley that they'll be specific.

Morning all.

Good to catch up with all the goings on. I've been off following a brain hemorrhage nearly 7 weeks ago. I best not talk about the water but just starting to think about getting in on one of the simpler and safer north coast spots if the swell dies in a few weeks time now I'm getting better. Might be worth me surfing first.

Anyway, good to see what you're all up too. Looks like a late season this year and I haven't missed quite as much as I feared.

Sounds good, will hopfuly get in this weekend and report back on south coast viz and loads of silver fish.

Morning Pepes, vis yesterday was at about 2-2.5m, still plenty of algae out there and stacks of jelly fish. I dived at mullion and met cornishlad out there. Not much about at all last night it looked fishy but no fishies.........
We went over the coast to Kenneck after mullion but that was ambitious!

SJ, sorry to hear of your illness mate, that's not a nice thing to happen to anyone

Anyone trying today?

Sj I hope you make a full recovery.
Happiness is a great healer and there's nothing better than doing what you like best (spearfishing) so get in there soon as you start to feel better and strong enough.
All the best.

Right then Pepes, dived at poldhu tonight, met cornishlad and a few others out. Vis is getting better all the time but still no flashes of silver! The most memorable part of the dive was going firm above a kelp bed and watching literally hundreds of 4-5 inch pollack emerge from the kelp and as soon as I moved they all retreated from whence they came!
On a serious note; there was the odd "much" larger swell on the tide change, be mindful of that if you're out in the big blue.

West side of the lizard is looking good to fair all weekend! Anyone else been out today?

After the heavy rain this morning SAS reports raw sewage at Gyllingvase beach. Careful everyone dive safe

Went to the beach today with the family and managed a quick dive. Good news is that the easterlies has dispersed the bloom so despite the swell I had 4m of viz give or take a couple of meters. Bad news is no-one has told the Bass. Squillions of sand eel and launce about, saw a confused Scad in a shoal of Pollock but no Bass. Wasn't a total loss as I managed to shoot a nice mullet of about 3 1/2 lbs.

I went to the north coast today .... vis was horrendous !!!! worst bloom I have ever seen !!!

So myself and MrHogan have dived million/ Poldhu for the last 4 days on the trot. There is a serious lack of fishies though. Vis is really good! The bass and mullet I did see where miles off and would of literally need a sniping scope and dual band gun to stand a chance. I think its the vis personally. They can see us from a mile off. Loads of sand eel and launce around!!

I second the serious lack of fishies!

Same aain tonight. Good vis but not many fish... A few more though. A week or so and hopefully.we'll seebit back to its usual. Did take a couple of ... Shall we say, 'ambitious' shots tonight. To no success though.

Hi Guys
Hoping that someone can help.
We are heading down to Cornwall for a week at the start of September and have the chance of a place to stay in Fowey or Mylor near Falmouth. Can anyone advise which will be the best for a bit of spearing and also if there is anywhere st either that I can keep my 3.2m inflatable on the water, poss a marina?
Thanks
Nick
