He's just getting the freezer box down to temp!prepare your selves !Edins prob had all the rabbits on the island allready!

Went to see them yesterday Ian and thought they had bought you along with them! Then I realised it was Lana! she's grown so much. On a serious note mate we are all going to miss you this year.

So the weather is crap but it looks great for the weekend!
It seems the wind could be 10-13mph North or North-easterly or North-westerly ... so I am going to hold back until Friday before deciding exactly where we will be fishing.
However, as a large part of the East coast is out of bounds, the choices are narrowed down to L,Eree & the Knife (although there are other possibilities if really necessary) I feel that L'Eree is almost certain to be sheltered on both days but the Knife could have a swell or a chop depending on the wind, on the day and the previous days.

Mart when will you let us know? isn't there a rule about diving the venue before the comp??

Good point, if the venues are not decided until Friday, then perhaps the potential venues of the knife and L'Eree should be diveable b4 hand?

Yes there is a rule, so please don't dive the Knife or L'eree two days before the copms .
I might be able to confirm the venue - day -match, on Thursday but it depends on the forecast...

Mike, it looks like most of the West coast will be calm so there are loads of great dives available without diving the most likely ones for the comps.

Well guys, I've enjoyed the banter! This event, as ever, will be fantastic and I'm ooking forward to it enormously! I drove a blue van last year with three people and no one caught a fish in the blue van. We thought about naming our team this year "can't fish, won't fish"!! Point is, there's plenty of Jersey Blankers as well, so let's not get too hung up on team makeup.

Reference to the team thing .... Obviously this is a fun event! We don't have any valuable prizes at least not to the extent of previous years so the real winners are the holders of the one of two trophies ... the Overall 'Deeper Blue Summer Fish in' trophy & the Team trophy.
One option is, Jersey v the rest of the World, another is team pairs .... so any other ideas?

Hi Mart, not keen on pairs ( not really a team event) and rather than Jsy v rest of world (unless people want to do that again) with 16 divers, how about teams of approx. 4, Jsy boys can split and field two teams, the Beans and the Crapauds! PS in pairs, if u have an odd number of divers , u may end up with a team of 1!

Well said Jase

After the poor weather of the last few "fish ins" (inc tail end of Hurricane Bertha! ) I just cant believe the current forecast for this coming weekend. Its early days, and it maybe tempting fate, but at the mo, its looking really great! Getting excited now. So, whether we dive as pairs, triplets, quads or octets....... we should have a laugh, a few beers and fingers crossed, enjoy some good diving conditions. Lets hope we also find a few fish(y)
